State Your Goal

At the start of the new year, I am going to be teaching Zumba Fitness classes.  Until then, a small group of us have started getting our hearts in motion to kick off that New Year's Resolution that we all have that usually involves losing weight.

This morning I sent out the following email:

Good Morning Guys and Dolls!

Just wanted to shoot you guys a little inspiration for this Monday morning!

A little help to get going:

1. Post Your Goal.

Print it out.  Put it in your office, on the refrigerator or IN the refrigerator! :), Make the goal your screen saver or phone background for extra reminders.

What is your goal? Lose 5 pounds? Run 1/2 mile? Get back in your favorite jeans? Get your heart healthy? Show your children the importance of fitness through your actions?

Everyone will have a different goal.  Which brings me to the next point.

2.  State your goal publicly.

Tell your nearest and dearest, tell your co-workers, post it on Facebook, Twitter or your website or blog.

Stating your goal will help keep you accountable and allow you to be more aware of your fitness choices throughout the day.

3.  Get out the door.

Sometimes I find this to be the hardest part.

Just getting dressed and out the door for a workout.

If the hardest part is getting dressed, then surely we can do it!

Just lace up those shoes.  Pull that hair back.  and...GET OUT THE DOOR!

You will not regret your time and effort after your workout is complete.

Every time you get out the door you are one step closer to your goal.

Sometimes it helps to get a little motivation.  Buy some new workout socks, or new songs for your iPod, new workout shorts or shirt, get you some tennis shoes that you are comfortable in. You can spend as little or as much as you want.  The point is, when you invest a little or a lot, you hate to see that money go down the drain.  You will be more likely to "use" your purhcase and you will have a new happy!

Hope this helps you "get out the door" today!  When you move on Monday, you are more likely to move on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

Happy Monday.

Therefore, I am here to state my goal.

Mini Goal:  Be able to exercise for 45-55 minutes without the thought of passing out crossing my ming.

Mega Goal:  Feel Good in my jeans.

There you go.  I have stated my goal.  I'm off to fulfill #1!

Have a great Monday!
