Kent had his first and best Father's Day ever this year. Rodney Hughes Mortimer arrived at 3:17 in the afternoon. He weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and is 20 1/2 inches long! I didn't even give Kent a card much less a gift! We didn't realize that 2009 would be Kent's first Father's Day!
He is rocking our world in the best way! We just stare at him as he sleeps and dream about him during our little naps. More tears of joy have been shed in the past few days than I have shed in my entire life. Thursday morning, Kent was holding Hughes on the sofa before he left for work. Then I hear the sweetest thing ever. Kent is gently and quietly singing, "Jesus Loves Me", to Hughes, as he rocks. We all just sat there and listened to the little lullaby as Kent wooed his new little buddy. We are really looking forward to sharing Hughes journey with you all! ...Here's to many more tears of joy to come!
